WHAT: Kindlings WinterFest is an annual lecture series featuring leading thinkers on issues of contemporary importance. It is a very scaled down, lecture only version of KindlingsFest our summer event. This year WinterFest 2010 is in presented in collaboration with Songshare 2010 presented by Orcas A Cappella. Join us for this celebration of music in lecture and performance.
SUBJECT: The Languages of Music and the Gods
GUEST LECTURER: Dr. Harold Best, Emeritus Professor of Music and Dean Emeritus of the Wheaton Conservatory.
GUEST CONDUCTOR: Richard Marlow, Professor Emeritus, of the Choir of Trinity College, of Cambridge, England
WITH THE MUSIC OF RALPH VAUGHAN WILLIAMS, presented by a 40-voice choir from Linfield College in Oregon who will perform, as well as sing with Orcas a Cappella under Marlow’s direction.
