I was eager to hear this, until right off the bat Mr. Overstreet says about Glen Beck and Rush Limbaugh, "I don't want that company".

If he'd simply left it at not wanting a false quote attributed to him, I would wholeheartedly agree. But to hear someone who is supposed to be a follower of Christ jumping on the 'hate Beck/hate Limbaugh' slamwagon was sad.

For the record, I don't listen regularly to either one of those people. But from the little I have seen or heard of them, they are trying to stand up for what is right and for our country. It would be nice if those who claim to follow Christ would at least give credit to people who may or may not be fellow followers of Christ, but who are attempting to stand up for our country.

  2. Charlie the Tuna says:

Goodness, Mo … Jeffrey wasn't complaining about being misquoted. He was expressing dismay at being lumped in with Beck & Limbaugh on the following page:

But saying he doesn't want to be equated with Beck & Limbaugh isn't the same as saying he hates them. If anyone is misrepresenting Jeffrey here, it's you.

  3. wannabuyamonkey says:

Mo, why are you more upset that Mr. Overstreet is not a fan of Glen Beck than you are that Glen Beck doesn't believe in Christ?

You even throw out the word "supposed" as though Jeff's belief in Christ may actually be questionable due to his lack of faith in Glen Beck. Believe it or not a person can be a believer and follower of Christ even if they aren't fans of your favorite political talk radio hosts. I enjoy conservative talk radio, but reading your comment made my eyes roll so far that I have a headache.

"Babette's Feast" is a film I have watched many times, and it touches me to the core each and every time. The story itself is a simple one, yet if you try to analyze what the film is "about" you realize that it is anything but simple; there are so many deep, rich, wonderful veins of meaning beneath the surface which one thinks about long after the film is over. This movie is the antithesis of Hollywood. It's not glitzy and there are no well-known actors in it. And it's sub-titled besides. But it goes far beyond simple entertainment, and it will change you for the better.
